Crucial Attack - s/t - 7

This is one of those 7″‘s that makes you feel good about hardcore. Now I am not remotely straight edge (aherm) nor anything approaching vegan like the guys in this band, but I appreciate the stuff they are saying and they sound like they fucking mean what they have to say. Which is what hardcore is all about, to me anyway – self belief and conviction and doing things the way you want to. Crucial Attack play fast hardcore much the same as countless other bands, they have a black and white cover with skulls on, and they have a booklet with pretty simple lyrics, but lots of explanations and positivity about what they believe in. They hit hard, fast and powerfully and they give a shit. Yes, musically it is about as ground breaking or original as the dump you took 5 minutes ago, but fuck yeah, their collective hearts are in the right place. And if you like this kind of style and your heart is in the right place too, you’ll really like this record a lot.
