Labels: Deep Elm

Yes it has a shit ’emo’ name. Yes it’s is on Deep Elm, but i quite like this. I picked it up as I heard it was the solo record of one of pop unknown, a band a really enjoyed, and so I wanted to check out what was going down.
This basically fits in with the current trend for one man band / acoustic singer-songwriter type stuff but it has a very warm, personal stripped down feel lacking from a lot of the more generic acts in that bracket I think, which is good, as I would have thought that was the point in indulging in such a project, but that often doesn’t come across to me in these records.
So it’s not wildly original and pretty predictable but it’s not contrived either, though the vocals sometimes sound a little like a forced Creed style it still manages to make me like it, a very pleasant, pretty record.
