I said I was never gonna spend anymore cash on Kid606 records ever again. But this one looked so damn nice, plus it was a white vinyl 10″.
“Sugercoated” is too slow, the beats sound really lazy but at least some of the weird noises in the background are kind of interesting to listen to. Its alright, it just sounds a bit like a Prefuse 73 demo.
“ForSteveReichandJeffMills” is a nice poppy drone piece. It’s kind of similar to another track on the GQ on the EQ 10″, not quite as good though. It builds up pretty slowly but maintains the same pattern throughout and is anything but a chore to listen too. Maybe he’s mixing Steve Reich records with Jeff Mills shit, I don’t know, but it’s a fitting tribute.
