Man I shouldn’t review when I am 75% deaf in one ear and 50% in the other because some
kind of wax madness going on in me gosh darned lug holes, but what the hell. MMotM were kind enough to
send us this 5 song cdep of incredibly screechy squawky yelpmo, and wrote a big note
with it saying that they all loved Collective. That’s good enough for me. I can’t even
hear the music and I bet it’s totally any good. For sure.
Seriously though, they are a pretty good band, so long as you can take the super-harsh
squawking vocals. This guy is off the hook. MMotM spazz their way violently through all
5 songs with nary a thought for your sanity, or my ears, the big buggers. Takes me back
to 1999 or something. The music is all spooky Witching Hour-esque screamo with neat
effects thrown in whilst the band frenziedly groove the fuck out of their instruments in the
midst of chaotic melodies. Song of Zarathustra is the name I am checking. Yup. Lots of
big chunky explosions bang off the crazy speed. Excitement. And all that. Simple as.
Nothing shocking or revelatory. Just good “old fashioned” spazzamation. True.
