Labels: No Idea Records

Awww, what a great little record to start your day with. Onion Flavoured Rings are lo fi pop tastic punk rock, stripped down and catchy, if you don’t like this stuff you have no heart! Here you have 12 tunes of punk/folk/bluegrass/hardcore or something, song subjects range from getting drunk with friends, playing punk rock and being a scientist. The artwork on this is really cool, something I have not seen before, big crayon drawings like we used to do in school, the front being a guy being stuck up by a clock tower which for some reason is unbelievably cool. The thing that grabs the most respect with this record is the booklet / zine thing, I really love this, did bands stop doing it recently because I rarely see it on new releases? And I dont mean a CD booklet, it’s a proper half size minizine. It’s a great little release if you’re getting into the folk punk thing getting popular right now, but it’s a lot more honest and punk rock than a lot of that stuff I would say, so instead of buying the new Again$t Me! I would put this on your No Idea order form instead.
