I really enjoy Lefty Loosie, to the point where I have started comparing any shambolic pop punk band who sound drunk and have female vocals to them. That was a pretty rough sentence! Anyway. Lefty Loosie is shambolic pop punk, they sound drunk and have female vocals. Basically you have good tunes with off-key, sung vocals and an endearing catchiness. It’s kind of like Husker Du in some ways, and not in others. Everything flashes past, like when you get quite drunk and the room goes spinning. Wait, what? Oh yeah, there goes a song, just lie down for a bit, there’ll be another one along shortly and maybe you’ll figure this one out. Never happens. Each song just goes ZIP and you’re still stuck on the floor 30 minutes later, the albums done and you probably should have listened to some comforting electronica instead.
Lefty Loosie is a whole lot of fun, providing you have a tolerance for basic, poppy punk that soundtracks inebriation to a pretty decent standard. Good work people!
Plus, on the back of the record it says: turn up the fart.
