New 7” from La Quiete and let me tell you they are as good as ever. The basic sound is the same as it ever was but there is definite evolvement since their last record. They seem to be a little more experimental these days – the harsh screams of previous records are gone for the most part and they are trying to do something a bit different with their sound. It’s still screamo I guess but there’s a lot more to it than that. Sons Of Vesta, who put this out, describe it is being darker than their previous output but I don’t really feel this. Some bits are quite uplifting in fact, for example, when they break off into more melodic guitar parts and spoken words are used.
Four songs in total, three new ones (one an instrumental) and one cover of Siamese Twins by The Cure. This cover is really good, a great way to end the record. One final note is that the sleeve for the 7” is also really cool. It folds out into a poster of a guy comprised of lots of smaller naked men. It is quite bizarre.
1000 copies pressed by Sons Of Vesta, who are putting out loads of amazing records at the moment. Check this out.
