The new Aurora Borealis offshoot label gets off to a cracking start by compiling this Macedonian mob’s split with Burmese and a couple of comp tracks. The method is nothing new, being as it is Ire-styled doom bordering on hardcore, but Potop really nail it with their killer riffs, drawn out but not too drawn out, with simple but smart chord progressions strewn all the way through. I haven’t had time to decipher the booklet (written in Cyrillic) but the singer definitely sounds like he’s having a bad time. I didn’t though!
