Obits - One Cross Apiece - 7

Labels: Stint
Review by: Alex Deller

We can all weep ’til the bloody cows come home about Hot Snakes calling it quits but, to view it from the glass-half-full perspective, it’s kinda like your parents splitting up when you’re a kid and realising you get two lots of birthday presents each time you chalk up another year. Obits here are what you gots left having separated Speedo’s Night Marchers out of the equation: snarling, wiry, Wipers-inflected rock n’ roll with catchy, sloping riffs and a tense sense of feral urgency. Both tracks here are certified bangers and, short as they are, plenty to whet your appetite until that Sub Pop full-length pulls around the corner.
