I have slacked rather on reviewing a Bangers split LP, but regardless, I shall bash this one out in the meantime. Bangers (hopefully named after sausages) are from Falmouth, and having played at the Yankee festival of beards and cheap beer, FEST, I can reveal that they fit in perfectly with that scene. Your tolerance for positive, gruff melodic punk may be zero, or it may be a million – that will determine whether you can get down with Bangers. This is all about dudes crowding round the mic with their bros, getting sweaty, having good times and enjoying being in a pop punk band. Bangers are good at it. You, personally, might not be able to tell the difference between any of the 842 bands that play at an event like Fest, but if you can, you will be able to spot that Bangers are better than most, and this two tracker is a solid outing for them. The multiple dudes on vocals do a good job, the music kicks hard and gets the head bobbing. Bangers know their shit and if you get your kicks to hard drivin’ melodies and bands like the Broadways, then this is for you.
