The leaflet in this cd is sinister as fuck. I thought I had been sent the wrong cd for a minute. There’s micro-photography of skin cells or something. Eurgh. Light of Words do some sort of progressive, rock, almost-but-not-really-shoegaze thing. I don’t really have much to say about these as I’m not much of an authority on such things. I was under the impression that this was going to be post-rockery of sorts but it just trudges through 8 quite long songs that are intensely depressing and sound a bit like Snow Patrol. There are a few nice twinkles here and there and when the second song utilizes Mr Glockenspiel it’s a pleasant listen. I can imagine this band becoming semi-popular with the masses in years to come.
