Man, this LP gets stuck right in with “Hairless’ which, as you’ll know if you read my review of the Hairless 7”, is perhaps one of my favorite songs of 2009. Awesome, moody and noisy hardcore. What a way to kick into the LP! The mood of this is replicated throughout. Its amazing how DRY-ROT have managed to shape their own sound so that even the oft-regurgitated slow & dirgey VS fast & ripping dynamic of tracks like “Mass Love’ sounds brand new! Sometimes its really slow and sparse in the vein of My War Side-B or Pissed Jeans, other times it is noisy and dirgey along the lines of Slices or Drunkdriver. I think a Blank Stare comparison is warranted also at times. I think its fair to say that this LP is an amalgamation of many of my favorite styles of hardcore. Seriously, get a hold of this. Best thing I’ve heard so far in 2010!
