Jil is Lucky - s/t - CD (2011)

Labels: Roy Music
Review by: Ted Reynolds

I guess this reminds me of the Flaming Lips, or Sufjan Stevens or bands / singers of that ilk. Its alright though, I quite like it, although I am feeling quite sensitive at the moment, so that may be why eh? There are alot of horns which should put me off more than it does, mind you they’re not being used like they would be in a ska punk band so maybe thats why.

Apparantly this guy has a bar in india named by him, and you may have seen him ‘wandering’ anywhere in Europe. So keep yr eyes opening for some fucker on their ‘gap year’ just trying to experience the world, yeah? Perhaps you will hear them bemoaning the state of the poor in India and how awful it is but ‘how happy they seem’ while nursing their expensive fucking latte or something, with a single dreadlock in their
hair, maybe that will be Jil, or just some other prick.

The record is enjoyable enough though.
