It’s pretty clear who The Instigation’s influences are as they race through fourteen tracks in just over twenty minutes on this demo. They play MHz, Circle Jerks and Reagan Youth covers amongst their own songs and declare a love for Dean Dirg. The band are clearly playing a style they love, even if you would have no idea that they are from China just from listening, and they do it pretty well. It’s a super lo-fi recording and I can’t make out what they singer is saying – it sounds like he’s shouting in English though and the song titles are in English. Overall it’s pretty nice stuff. I really want to write some words about how I’d like to see them add their own individuality to it and sing in Chinese, but I don’t really have a clue about trying to be in a punk band in China do I. So I won’t. They are about to tour Japan. I am about to go watch Lethal Weapon.
