This band comes from Sweden. They do some kind of post rock but with added vocals and some psychedelic stuff on a couple of tracks. The opener isn’t bad – it’s a slow and atmospheric post rock track that breaks into life after 2 minutes with some nice guitars. However, it gets a little messy halfway through with the distortion on the guitars. It’s a good signal for what follows on the rest of the EP. “Sunbeam” has vocals and a wah-wah effect on the guitars. It descends into a psychedelic ending with slow guitar soloing. I like the title of “I Never Wrote A Letter Back Home” “” it starts off slow and moody and is about being alone in heaven. It then gets a bit shoegazy before going back to the post rock with some shimmering and twinkly guitars a bit like Explosions In The Sky who they seem to take influence from “” certainly in the post rock sections.
I’m not particularly keen on the guitar effects they opt for throughout this EP “” there is some distortion but it makes the sound a bit ragged at times. I would probably like this band more if they stuck to the post rock instrumentals and left the psychedelics and vocals alone. I’m finding it to be a rather messy EP with some clashing styles. It does have some nice parts to it though.
