Labels: Eager Beaver – Not Shy of the DIY

This 7inch comes with some pretty cool cover art and a picture poster which is a play on “Dawn of the Dead”. The band members themselves are actually all called Dave – hang on, I mean, the drummer is called Joe. Thankfully his surname is Dave though so it’s ok and doesn’t upset the balance. These Daves are ex-various other bands including Tiltwheel, Madison Bloodbath and Clairmel so I make their combined age to be about 354 years old. Too Many Daves play some pretty rocking and boozy punk rock. The first song pounds along with plenty of power in the guitars and hoarse vocals – the same could be said for every song on here. Drinking is a recurring theme in most of the songs – they are all about a raucous singalong and drinking with their buddies. I am less keen on the last song which is a bit too much of a spoof for me. This record is kind of disposable but fun at the same time. If you like shouty punk rock to raise your beer glass up to then you won’t go far wrong here.
