Despite playing this game for however many years now, I’m still a sucker for certain namedrops when bands or labels are trying to shill you something. Case in point in the year 2012: Rorschach. Stoic Violence, sadly, sound nothing like Rorschach or, for that matter, Die Kreuzen, who were the slightly more au courant reference in the online sales patter. Instead they sound like a whole bunch of other bands at the moment: messy hardcore where the only things you can really make out are the simplistic bass lines and the singer’s maniacal caterwauling. It kinda makes me think of Condominium without the art or a muckier, less-honed Brain Slug, and while it’s all ok enough I can’t see much reason to return to these three brief tracks any time soon.
