Ex members of obscure Dutch screamo bands get together and conjer some slow epic hardcore, cool! Amongst fiddling about with some quiet build up parts and more intense loud parts, Atlas pretty much nail the crushing sound they are trying to concoct; they hail from that strange world where black metal, screamo and general harsh hardcore music collide. It is a world I rarely tred but I appreciate when I do make the odd visit. Simple but effective and the atmosphere when the vocals kick in is more often that not spot on. I worry about how much of sort I can take before getting fed up of it but in preparation for the dark winter ahead this sure is a keeper.
