It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed something from East Asia, it’s good to see that those lot are still making music. Paris In The Making are from Singapore and it doesn’t take a genius to see the similarity they have with post-rock/hardcore era Envy. Throw in a keyboard and what we have is a rich vibrant sound with anguished screams tearing at our heart strings. It’s just that it’s a few years too late – post-rock screamo came and went and now I spend my days listening to chillout dance music. Despite the beautiful packaging and solid song structure I can’t help but feel that they need to try and be a bit more unique. The musicianships there, just a bit more thought is needed in how to apply it. Sorry.
