FluiD - Envisioning Abstraction: the Duality of FluiD - CD (2012)

Labels: Alrealon
Review by: Captain Fidanza

This is about as varied a release as I’ve ever received from Collective and rather wonderfully it namechecks Dalek on the press-release. Sadly, it’s not as good as Dalek whose 2004 album “œAbsence” album is one of the finest rap albums of the last decade.

However, whilst being inferior to one of the artists referenced on the full-colour piece of paper which accompanied the album, this does venture out into new territory which at times raises it above the lazy comparisons which press-releases often encourage.

The phrase “œindustrial soundscapes” usually brings to mind nothing more than two unemployed idiots playing with a drum machine in an abandoned garage, but here it speaks of a dense world of unpleasantness which black-helmeted biker gangs habitually ride their motorcycles through in various post-apocalyptic films of the 1980s.

Do you do soundtrack?
