Isn’t it great when a band just totally ups their game between releases? I mean, ‘Dead Point’ was a good enough slab of zero-bullshit grind, but this fucking thing is just IMMENSE. The hostility levels are about enough to induce a Scanners moment if you listen to it through your earphones, the sound thick, burly and crushing and the gargling vocals brimming over with blank-eyed hatred and incomprehension. The balls-out speed is tempered by judicious use of slower, knuckle-dragging moments and though there are 19 bloodyminded tracks it never drags and there’s enough variation that you can distinguish between the headshots and the bodyblows. Awesome, awesome stuff indeed.
