This is a four tracker from a Long Island five-piece blending indiemo and pop punk. It’s a fairly gentle listen and downbeat lyrically evoking a little of Dowsing in the style. However, the vocals are a touch raspy and more in line with someone like State Lines who they have recently teamed up with on a split tape. The first song sets their stall out with a drifting guitar sound and slow pace. I have no idea why it’s called “Pasta (Burying Nine Lives)” though. Perhaps it’s about a cat. Yes, it’s definitely about a cat called Pasta. It’s on the second half of this EP that things are picked up pace-wise and “Counting Days” has a little pop punk creeping in. It’s nicely paced and my favourite track on here. “Lost Wisdom” is similar style-wise and rounds the EP off nicely. There is also a bonus acoustic version of this track on the download for this although it’s not listed on the Bandcamp page. Nice – I won’t hold them up at Dowsing’s level yet but I’ve quite enjoyed listening to this.
