I don’t know if anyone reads my screamo reviews anymore but I feel that someone has to try and keep people in the loop. There’s not a great deal going on but releases are popping up here and there. Aspergers are back and I’m trying to work out how similar their sound is to Jeromes Dream and the slightly different approach they took on their last record. Everything flows nicely but the same criticism as Revolte exists – the actual recording doesn’t sound harsh enough to the ears (I’m not talking about the vocals here). Someone please go find the person who recorded Makara. It’s solid enough other than that crucial aspect!
I’m more interested in 1849 who I’ve not heard before. Screamo with just bass and drums, what?? It’s neat but it seems to missing something too, hmmm. I hope the Russians keep their screamo up but I’m still waiting for something that blows me away.
