It only took a bunch of split releases and a heinous van crash, but these Portland grinders have finally deemed it time to drop a full-length on the world. It’s 16 tracks of sharp, snarling stuff that’s definitely borne of a hardcore background, things bitterly raw and spurred on by Krysta Martinez’ ferocious vocal delivery. While blistering speed is the weapon of choice things aren’t without the occasional change of pace, the standout ‘Sustain The Yoke’ demonstrating both a knack for dynamics and a keen grasp of groove. If splitting hairs I’d suggest the guitars could do with sounding just a ,tad bit nastier, but maybe that’s just because the vocals are so flabbergastingly gnarly. Whatever the weather, it’s definitely one for those who like their grind with a punked up edge, a la Cloud Rat, Bridgeburner or Kill The Client.
