This one came with a note that I had described their previous EP as “quite good actually” which is not strictly true – not those exact words anyway but I did like it. There are five tracks on the physical copy apparently but I’m writing this using the three tracks on the Bandcamp page. I remember them serving up a fair bit of variation last time out and this time things are a bit more in their noisier direction particularly on the two tracks that book-end this. The last one is pretty rowdy and reminds me of Mclusky especially in the lyrics and the vocals. I’d pick the song in between, “Heartspans”, which has a more melodic opening half, as the standout – it’s a good’un. The vocals sound Scottish to me on this song by the way. They’re from Exeter but maybe the guy singing this one is Scottish. Either that or I’m hearing things. Who knows? Not me. So, yeah, “quite good actually”.
