I notice a steady stream of consistency with OddBox releases so thought I’d give this one a go. Needed some new music to keep me company on a 2 and a quarter train journey up the coast this weekend too. This is a Leeds band who deal in garagey punk-pop and they do a fine job of it. Twelve tracks that are infectious yet nervy at times like on closing track “All These Crazes and Fads Have Taken Their Toll On You”. They remind me a little of Bloods from Sydney on the more energetic tracks like “In The Street (If This Is The Future)” and “Should’ve Come By”. Other tracks that I’d pick out would be the punky “Somebody Else” which brings the handclaps into play early on. This is then followed by a kind of parody Tarantinto-style instrumental but the track I’d say is the standout is “The Modern World” with its confident swagger. Well worth checking this band out actually.
