Face-smashing death-grind from people who know well enough how to play face-smashing death-grind. Oftentimes I can find on-the-nose delivery and brazen professionalism pretty tough to swallow, but here such traits are welded to a very real desire to remove your head from your shoulders and feed it to the pigs out back, so it all works out quite well. The beating is merciless and thorough; the riffs ogre-like; the grooves sporadic but wholesome when they do so arise and, overall, it is all most satisfactory. Once in a while I’d like to get the sense that they were on the brink of thoroughly losing their shit and doing something utterly ridiculous, but right now I can live with a mere cold, ruthless pummelling because it’s being meted out so very well.
