Labels: Toxic State
Review by: Alex Deller
Scrappy, scrawled artwork? Incoherent lyrics babbling isolation and ennui? Buzzsaw guitars and Rudimentary caterwauling? Yeah, it’s a Toxic State release alright, and a decent enough one at that. Six songs, all of them jarring, primitive and unpleasant. The vocals snarl, the drums sound mysteriously healthy and it all gives off that oily, distressed, lank-haired vibe that the label tends to deal in. I wouldn’t say it was full-blown essential, but if you get bored of rooting around between your toes and sniffing your own bodily secretions then this’ll effectively kill a few minutes’ worth of purposeless, gruelling existence until it’s time to check your email again.
