Bollock Swine - Pseudoku - Wonton Shanghai Odalisque split - 7

Labels: self released
Review by: Oli Saunders

For some reason I continue to write reviews of Bollock Swine. Their side sounds exactly like what I remember of them. Instruments played randomly whilst members scream over the top dischordantly. I know they are messing around and having fun with descriptors of their music on their website but their phrase “Anti-Listener” sums them up well.

I thought Bollock Swine had started playing actual music on the second side before I realised this is a split and that it’s a different band. There’s a drum beat. There’s vocals and guitars. WHAT’S GOING ON. How Bollock Swine agreed to share a record with a band that does this I do not know. There’s a Battleship type guitar riff at first which works really well. I like the guitar in general as the drummer just smashes away at their kit. The vocals are decent. It’s still all over the place but I have some appreciation for Pseudoku.
