What. The. Fuck. Excluding the fact that Slugdge have calmly and quietly unleashed three full-lengths in as many years (all of which can be downloaded for free), these boys can not only play like virtuosos, but they are also firmly committed to the concept that there is a giant, malevolent, animalistic (specifically, a slug or snail) god-figure named Mollusca that is behind a thin veil of evil, ready to engulf what we call conscious reality. I may have embellished that but you get the slimy idea. Slugdge is a duo making technical death metal stuff with a grandiose, well produced, polished air, replete with much in the way of epic, melodic, modern metal sounds. A triple CD set of their albums is now sold out, but while that is getting a repress Slugdge recently got snapped up by Willowtip Records which is a more than fitting home for them as they do align nicely with the likes of Gigan, Arsis and Gorod.
