My recollection of Halftime Parade is a little hazy – I’ve only ever heard that one track on the split with Marshall Teller back in 2008 and never delved any deeper despite liking that one song. Probably got distracted but here we are 8 years later with 2 new Halftime Parade songs that are a lot quieter and more restrained than the one song I’ve previously heard. I’ve missed a whole bunch of releases in between times too. Anyway, these two tracks are acoustic, sincere and laced with sadness in the lyrics and fingerpicked guitar sound. The first track “Not Your Problem” will be on their forthcoming album and as a result of hearing these two tracks I’ll be paying a bit more attention this time around.
