The record label would only let me listen to the very first of the nine tracks on this album by New Orleans Joy Division fan MJ Guider, which is a shame because the one song they gave me access to was brilliant, featuring as it did, a strange 8-bit drumbeat with the sound of someone leaning on a keyboard and a bizarre voice effect which made the vocalist sound as though she were singing in an enormous cathedral.
I would happily sit and listen to the remainder of this album, hoping to get lost inside its slow-paced, textured atmospheric weirdness, but I suppose that’s Capitalism for you.
