A 7” punk split, let’s go! Dan Padila are first up and play melodic punk. To me it sounds like a more chilled out All Eyes West. The first track is alright, then ‘Sit Around’ kicks in and I really dig the change in tempo and perhaps the greater simplicity. Though it feels like the sort of song suited to the end of an LP rather than one side of a 7”. Prince are on the other side and I’ll avoid talking about how poor a decision they made in choosing their band name. Their brand of pop punk is warm and catchy with an Ergs!/Dillinger Four vibe. ‘How Ya Been Feelin’ is an absolute corker; I’m on my third listen and it’s got such an upbeat sound. Note to self: play this loudly once summer rears its head. The song transitions into ‘More Of This’ which sounds like he’s continually chanting “Zamora” as he sings it (I can’t unhear it now either). It’s not as good but I’ll definitely be taking on the challenge of finding out more about this band on the internet.
Last year I discovered very few new bands that I was truly into; I’m now on six so far this month ï|_(ãƔ)_/ï
