This is some indie pop from Houston and it’s very good. Kind of light and airy musically (perhaps with the exception of “Awake” which is louder) with infectious and melancholy guitar lines that lead many of the songs here. Beach House got a mention in the PR email and I think there’s something similar in the vocals but Rose Ette reside firmly in the realms of indie pop. The pairing of the nicely paced title track and the brilliant “Mask” is the highlight for me, although they are run close by “Mirrors”. I think “Mask” may be one of my favourite songs of 2018. I’ve had this on regular rotation since it came in – lovely stuff.
