Enjoyed the Power Failure demo a lot, and this follow-up is absolutely crushing. The band merge the lung-crumpling, metal-tinged power violence of Despise You and Apartment 213 with brute-force stuff like Nails, Terror and early Hatebreed, then lace the whole ugly racket with an undeniable Essex thuggishness. The short songs clobber and whump, layers of grit scratching at the edges of the vocals and basslines while each halting slow-mo part lands like a body dropped down a lift shaft. Alongside their own murderous compositions there’s a nod to their county forebears by way of a Stand Off cover: a nice know-your-history touch that also works supremely well in its own right.

Fantastic stuff, honestly – someone put them on a split with Eyeteeth already!
