Powerful, scything hardcore that manages to balance a sense of timelessness with something totally unique. Each song here seems ripped from the guts, built around big, jagged riffs (think: Uranus; Soar; Finger Print) and duelling voices that sound distinct yet similarly scorched. Traditional Iranian folk instrumentation is then deftly woven in: an inseparable part of the music’s natural flow that adds a compelling sense of tension and joy to something that was already sit-up-and-listen distinctive. It’s raw and furious but also somehow hopeful-sounding: a roiling, tumultuous piece of work that engages your must-mosh animal brain while making you want to discover everything that has fed into this band’s brilliant music.
