Annalise - Signposts & Alleyways - 7

Labels: Boss Tuneage
Review by: Ian Cavell

Just how good is this? I’ll tell you: its just fucking awesome. Good enough that I can listen to it every day for a week and a half straight and still show no sign of tiring of it. So good in fact, it could well be one of the best 7″s to crop up this year.

Only two tracks, which is a downer, and one of which is off the forthcoming album, but hey, coloured vinyl always wins me over in the end. And when the fantastic melodic punk sound of ‘Signposts & Alleyways’ bursts forth from the speakers you know you’ve made a good purchase. This is the most accomplished Annalise release yet – a faultless display of energy, melody and good songwriting.

And while that song may be on the album, I’m pretty sure ‘Empire Builder’ is exclusive to this release. Its completely different to the first song as Annalise take up the acoustic option. Somehow the lyrics are even more touching and poignant.

Wow. This is a simply fantastic release for Boss Tuneage and a great advert for the not too distant album.
