A super quick one-two from Split System, just to remind you that they’re still the best band doing what they do. The lead track is a snarling, hardcore-fulled rock ‘n’ roller that delivers exactly what you’d want it to with a title like that: it soars high and threatens to burn up on re-entry, throwing off sparks and smoking fragments in a manner that’s both glorious and self-destructive. ‘Pull The Trigger’ is a brisker, more pissed off slice that sets its sights on war profiteers – something that was sickeningly on-point when this record was released, and has only gotten more so in the time it’s taken me to pull my finger out and write this review.
