Proper songs, like. This is just not on. By my calculations the ‘real’ Combatwoundedveteran could fit at least eighty-four songs onto the 10″ format, but here we’re treated to just four numbers, one of which is just a cop-out electronica n’ spoken word piece about giant squid that most definitely pales in comparison to its direct forebear, ‘Folded Space – Lead Poisoning And Distortion.’ Hrmph. So-so scream-o, hardcore thrash trash, Reversal of Man meets Born Against meets some old crap with a long name that they found in some book somewhere. Snoozesome to the point that even the artwork is shoddy this time around, as are the lyrics, which seem to be pure CWV-by-numbers, just mentioning blood, automatons, bones and vomit at various intervals and hoping for the best. Pah. Contender for the year’s most disappointing record? Could well be…
