Labels: Gloom

Judge a record by it’s cover. The packaging is Crass-esque. Black and white pictures of men with gas masks. The name of the label is Gloom. The colour of the vinyl is bloody red. And there are not many inserts. Actually, just a piece of paper with politcal-ish lyrics and ways to contact the band. Oh look! A skull! Grind? Power Violence? RAAA! ? Bingo!
With the minimal info provided by that singular insert, Curtainrail are from Japan. They offer us 4 songs. All sounding almost akin as the other. Super fast heavy charged combatwoundedveteran styled…all over before my cat has time to say meow. Flip over. New Yorkers J.B.A sees more structures in their 5 track assaults. Vocals are more tuff-guy. Music is slightly more hardcore-ish than grind. Not as harsh as their Japanese counterparts but nevertheless all very good.
And it spins on 33rpm. And there are 186 copies. And I got this on Christmas Eve too. Woo Hoo!
