Hot Water Music - Live at the Hardback - LP (1999)

Labels: No Idea Records

Its Hot Water Music – do you need to know any more?

I guess this review would be kind of shit if I left it that… but if you have yet to be acquainted with the great Hot Water Music then get in touch with a distro or something and order some stuff. And this live album isn’t a bad place to start either. Firstly because as far as live albums go, the sound quality really is superb. If you cut out the people cheering and the dialogue between songs then chances are you wouldn’t even notice this was recorded live. The second reason is that it features tracks such as ‘Alachua’, more recent recordings such as ‘Where We Belong’ and a handful of songs from the ‘Fuel for the Hate Game’ and ‘Forever and Counting’ albums. All of which are amazing in the emotional-melodic-hardcore-not-sure-how-to-describe-it-style that is HWM. And you even get a Leatherface cover for your troubles.
