Kaiser Chiefs - Everyday I Love You Less and Less - CD (2005)

Labels: B-Unique
Review by: Andy Malcolm

Hey hey, its the Kaiser Chiefs everybody! And they have released that song with the stunning lyrics “And my girlfriend loves me”, not to mention “Every day I love you less and less, you are turning into something I detest”. Get ready for their unique brand of indie that has become more terrible than you can possibly imagine. What really apalls me most about this band is that it is so unbelievably calculated that I can come to no other conclusion than to decide their songs were surely written by a computer. Yet such a shitty computer (i.e. a Commodore 64, no question about that) that their music has a sum total of zero redeeming features. This song bulges at the seams with various artifacts purchased on E-Bay from a decidedly poor 1980s band that nobody can recall besides some 35 year old indie chancer from Camden who has long since left planet earth. From the vocals, to the pathetic keyboards, and the shockingly moronic lyrics, the fact that it is designed purely to be catchy and lodge in the brains of drunken imbecile students whilst they puke their heads off in the bogs of their local toilet nightclub is indisputable. This song is a perfect example of what happens when music has everything important surgically eradicated by precision surgeons highly trained in the art of soul removal. Man alive.
