Hey! Seems Sweatmaster have delivered on the promise shown on the two original numbers that featured last year’s EP and have come up trumps with Tom Tom Bullet, twelve tracks of ballsy, stripped-down rock n’ roll that punches all the right buttons and should have no difficulty in turning venue floors into sweat-streaked dance fests by the time they hit their first gigantic chorus. Taking the bright shining chords and gutsy howl of prime time Hives (we’re talking Veni Vidi Vicious here, kids), the seamy melodies and suggestive hubba-hubba croons of QOTSA, Sweatmaster fashion a series of catchy stompers from the best possible raw materials and set their sights on shaking the place to the goddamn ground with four-note solos, handclaps and the kind of primeval riffs that have been serving the universe proud for the past half-century “” fuckin’ rock n’ roll eh, who can beat it?
