This one seems to have slid mostly under the radar unfortunately. It’s a shame as more people should check it out. Could be that it’s the combination of the release featuring folks from uncool UK bands (ex Red Monkey and Slampt label), on an uncool US label that sees promotion as something that is completely unnecessary in DIY. And indeed it would nice if it could be. Particularly when you are releasing political post-punk bands with songs about the economy amongst other subjects. I’d have liked to have gotten a lyric sheet with this, as although the vocals are clearly spoken it’d be nice to have gone over them at my “leisure”” afterwards. Musically this is pitched somewhere between the Lapse and Wilderness although probably influenced by a gamut of old post punk bands from the early 80s that I am not familiar with. There are four songs they herk and jerk back and forth with a pleasing rhythm and the vocals (there is even some great Bob Tilton-esque wailing on Elvis Prison Guard) top it all off very nicely. Keep an eye out for this one if any of this sounds remotely interesting because I suspect you’ll be rather impressed.”
