This is a triply belated review, given that “Bodycage”” just came out as a double-vinyl re-release of a CD that was itself a reissue of a limited CDR but what the hell. Nadja is a duo consisting of the prolific Canadian musician and artist Aidan Baker who augmented by bassist Leah Buckareff creates a mighty wall-of-sound; a sensual sinister fug of droning yet melodic doom ambience with elements of noise in the mix too. This is the sort of background music that has an anaesthetic effect slipping imperceptibly into your consciousness without you realising. The approach may seem dated (drum machines synths etc.) but the effect is overpowering. By the way
