Shit me, this band is so awesome. If any band right now needs to make an LP, it is Young Offenders. So instead, we have to make do with a couple of singles. NOT FAIR. “Big Man, Small House” is insanely catchy with as good a chorus as I have heard in a million years. Absolutely genius post punk blessed with the Marked Men’s ability to pen a tune. This is so uplifting, and fucking great. “Saints” flips it and shows off a funkier side to the band. On their Myspace site they suggest that they are influenced by bands like Big Boys and Wedding Present, and really, I guess that’s probably about as close as you’re going to get to a comparison from me. The vocals hit a total sweet spot, urgently sung, shouted and dead on. And then it’s done. Get this 7″ right now.
