In Disgust - Sidetracked - split - 7

Heard good words said about Santa Cruz-dwelling grinders In Disgust but this is the first time our paths have crossed. Seven tracks of sturdy enough grind that doesn’t sound too far away from a direct mash-up of the Insect Warfare / Hatred Surge split: rumbling early Earache grind dosed with a hefty hit of Despise You-aping mangle, all of which is rendered tamer than it really should be thanks to a somewhat mushy recording.

Sidetracked, over on the other side, are an odd one, playing stop-start-stop hardcore that could almost be Chain Of Strength trying their hand at covering a couple of Man Is The Bastard tracks. Sacrilegious as that may sound it actually makes for reasonably interesting listening, or, at least, marginally more so than the diarrhoetic stream of poserviolence prickery currently being perpetrated by divvy cunts who last week downloaded the Infest back catalogue and subsequently think they know what’s what.
