Ablach - Aon - CD (2009)

Ablach are steeped in the heritage of their native Scotland, often singing in Gaelic, regaling the listener with tales of battles and political intrigue. Choosing to convey this via the medium of grindcore is an interesting but not unwelcome move. It’s the Nasum school of rock, with a cool contrast between the two vocalists, one trading in deep roars, the other a piercing shriek. The music is speedy but thunderously heavy with it, without much overt technicality to blunt the unsubtle attack, and while there’s not a massive amount of variety to it, it certainly packs a wallop.
