D9 are another band riding the resurgent wave of powerviolence hardcore, and while they don’t have the same levels of tightness, catchiness or invention of a band like Iron Lung, this CD is still a pretty handy way of pumping adrenalin around your body for 20 minutes. It’s a lame thing to highlight, but the fact they’re from Israel (they’re named after a type of tank used in military manoeuvres in and around their homeland) adds a nice exotic element for me, and their bruised and blackened hearts are definitely in the right place.
