Gliss - Beauty - CD (2009)

Labels: Cordless
Review by: Andy Malcolm

I was pretty taken with the previous single from this band, but unfortunately Beauty shows off a far less appealing side of the band. This is pretty flimsy, downbeat pop music that misplaces the shoegaze influences and sounds summery. But summer is long gone and it all just feels pretty inappropriate. Beauty shimmers a bit, it fuzzes a bit, but on the whole it sounds like a rejected Fountains of Wayne song or something. Mediocre at best.
